David Wilkes is a co-founder and partner in the nationally-acclaimed property tax firm Huff, Wilkes, Cavallaro & Loveless, LLP (www.huffwilkes.com), and has also served as Chairman of The Appraisal Foundation, which is the entity designated by Congress to set national valuation standards (USPAP) and appraiser qualifications. 

David has served as Chairman of the American Bar Association’s Property Tax Committee; he is a longstanding member of the International Association of Assessing Officers’ Legal Committee; and is a Board Member of the International Property Tax Institute.  In addition to a law degree from Boston University, he holds a Master’s Degree from New York University in valuation, and served for seven years as Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious Real Estate Review academic quarterly.  He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the New York State Bar Association’s monthly lawyers’ magazine, the Journal, with a circulation of 74,000 lawyers and judges. 

He is based in Westchester County, New York, and when he is not writing about tax and valuation he may be found rock and ice climbing, bicycle racing or riding his Harley Davidson.
